Engineering Manager | Mining / Australia

We are working closely with an Engineering Consultancy to identify an Engineering Manager with previous Mining EPC and Iron Ore experience in Australia for a 12 month Contract.

The successful candidate will be FIFO from Perth to Karratha on 5/2 and 4/3 roster with camp accommodation provided.

Your responsibilities in the role

• Integrate the design, stakeholder requirements and discipline engineer work
• Ensure multidiscipline workstreams are achieving project objectives
• Interface with functional and operational teams outside the program where required
• Resolve technical queries and engineering problems
• Manage technical scope or work and manage engineering change as required
• Review and approve drawings and deliverables as required
• Define, develop and/or approve processes, procedures, specifications and equipment selections
• Participate in design reviews as necessary
• Support site engineering engagement
• Ensure risk processes are adequately applied across engineering
• Ensure the design incorporates appropriate Design Principles and complies with Client requirements

What you need to be successful in the role

• Engineering Degree
• 15+ years’ experience mining industry experience in Australia
• Previous Design Consultancy experience
• Must be able to travel as needed to support project activities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a practical approach to resolving engineering problems
• Previous Rio Tinto and Heavy Haul Rail experience highly regarded
