We are delighted to be partnering with a Chemical manufacturing giant for the appointment of an Instrument Engineer for a major new build work scope.

The role will be working for the client working within FEED/Design by an assigned EPC contractor in Madrid Spain. The roles will offer a long term contract duration and the opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join a multi $billion project at the very first stages.

About Project 
The client has committed to making major multi $billion investment in new production facilities in the Middle East region. It will be the first plant of its kind in the region when it starts up 2025.

Role Overview 
  • Cover all field instrumentation aspects
  • Work on different projects throughout the Feasibility / Conceptual /FEED or Execution phase
  • Create specifications and data sheets
  • Collaborate with and support client plants, Vendors and Contractors.
  • Check the quality of Vendor and Contractor documentation and test it against specifications, norms, standards and local regulations.
  • Develop instrument indexes, P&IDs, loop and interconnection drawings, hook ups, network and control system architecture designs for industrial plants
  • Advise and support the HES department regarding safety studies (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL calculation)
  • Develop control strategies that will be configured in the control system
  • Work and communicate effectively with other disciplines, task leaders, and project managers
  • Produce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums
  • Perform in technical role for value engineering and QA/QC or review of sub- consultant work
Qualifications and Experience needed
  • Minimum 15 years exp delivering multi $billion mega projects from initial conception through all phases of lifecycle, covering FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, Commissioning and Handover. 
  • Previous exp within major design works being carried out by end operator/EPC contractors
