The client a multi-disciplined Engineering Design house are looking to add a Mechanical / Vessel Designer to their team working from their Thornaby office.
The role will be for an initial 12 month contract and offers a strong hourly rate of pay outside of IR35 so is open to Ltd Companies. 37.5 hrs/week - Monday to Friday in the Thornaby office.
The client operate in various industries including (Petro)Chemicals and Oil & Gas.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE
ESSENTIAL SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE
Candidates must have existing right to work in the UK to apply for this position.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE
- To work as part of a Design Team responsible for the production of technical documentation to high professional standards within challenging programmes and budgets
- Prepare and/or check instrument index, loop diagrams, hook ups, location/cable routing drawings, alarm and trip schedules
- Co-ordinate/liaise with other Engineering disciplines/client/package vendor
- Interpret Vendor and other discipline drawings/information
- Work to time schedules and budgets
- Report to Engineers
- Comply with Quality Management Systems
- Other professional duties reasonably required
- Background in Heavy Engineering/Chemical/Petrochemical Industries preferred.
- English Language – written, spoken and technical
- Ability to convert data sheets or technical communications into Engineering Documents
- Ability to read drawings from other Engineering disciplines
- Ability to design/work to British Standards and Codes of Practice
- Ability to Liaise/co-ordinate work with other disciplines
ESSENTIAL SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE
- IT literate
- Efficient use of AutoCAD and all its attributes
- Experience of Smartplant Instrumentation preferable
