Supply Chain Supervisor – Aberdeen – 12 month fixed term contract
Job Description
A fixed term (12 month) contract to provide maternity cover for the Supply Chain Supervisor. The position holder is responsible for of all Supply Chain activities to support early-stage Production and Engineering Projects within the Product Centre.
The position requires previous Supply Chain experience including procurement of precision machined components and coordination of import and export activities. Successful position holders will be able to work on their own initiative and make pragmatic decisions, demonstrate good organisation, team working, communication and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
Responsible for material planning, scheduling and procurement in accordance with bills of materials and customer demand; issue of RFQs, supplier selection and negotiation, and Purchase Order placement.
Monitor Purchase Orders through to delivery, including regular expediting, reconcile any order discrepancies, and assist accounts with invoice queries.
Develop, maintain and manage relationships with suppliers to drive improvement in all areas of supplier performance.
Manage communication with suppliers including obtaining quality documentation, drawing queries, Non-Conformances, and Concessions
Work with Engineering to drive cost-down and identify wider sourcing opportunities.
Coordinate all domestic and international logistics; liaise with all relevant parties incl. customers and freight forwarders, prepare shipping and export documentation.
Maintain accurate records of import and export activities, deal with any Customs queries and support finance for Postponed VAT Accounting.
Management of the of Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator.
Regular interaction with Engineering and Production Teams and Product Centre Management
Qualifications :
Degree and / or relevant experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formula, lookups, pivot tables etc.)
Working knowledge of SAP Business by Design (desirable but not essential)
