Contract: Accountant / South East London

As an attentive and committed Accountant, you will conceptualize and design efficient IT solutions to meet the finance department's needs, mainly on the reporting side. You will also communicate with staff to better understand their role and document day-to-day work in the form of ‘Desk Procedures.’ Please note that this position is on a rotational basis (28/28).


To give you an idea of how this accounting job would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

• Coordinate needs expressed by colleagues to develop and implement technological solutions, including suggesting advanced technologies such as robotics and Artificial Intelligence
• Plan and supervise new systems implementation, mainly in budgeting and reporting areas, playing a pivotal role on behalf of the finance department within larger systems deployment projects
• Monitor and update these systems according to the evolution of the environment
• Prepare Operating Expenses (OPEX), General and Administration (G&A) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) reports for managers and develop new ones (budget analysis)
• Provide monthly variance analysis and forecasting updates
• Prepare year-end, quarter-end and month-end duties and participate in internal audits

To apply for this Accountant role, you will need to be degree-qualified (preferably in accounting or a Bachelor's degree in a business discipline plus relevant experience). You will also require the following:

• At least five years of applicable tax, accounting and systems experience, preferably with familiarity with existing Algerian regulations and IFRS
• English language skills (essential), and knowledge of French or Arabic (advantageous)
• Good knowledge and prior experience using Essbase, Oracle Financials and SAP (desirable)
• Understanding of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act (ideal)
• Experience in dealing with highly confidential data
