PNG General Manager / Papua New Guinea

We are currently recruiting for General Manager to work for a major mining contractor based in Papua New Guinea, who is the primary supplier to a large Global mining operator.

This role presents a career defining opportunity to shape the direction of a mature business managing over 200 staff in PNG, have complete autonomy of the direction of the business and manage the primary relationship of the major mining client who the contractor services in PNG.

About the role: PNG General Manager

The perfect candidate for this role will have a robust mix of experience in operations and general management, as well as some kind of background in a hands on or technical role within mining having a deep understanding of a mine setting and service provision.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Strong candidate with an engineering background who can also manage people and responsibilities/departments.
• 15 + years industry experience in mining with track background in leading multiple teams.
• Ability to manage budgets and
• Project management experience.
• Relationship management to manage stakeholders such as mining operators; landowners; and service providers
• Strong leadership skills to lead a 200 + workforce and build strong relationships with employees.
• Flexibility to work in remote areas and FIFO.
• Business Development skills
• Ability to manage our major contract with large global mining operator and the technicalities around this
