The client, a global oilfield services company, are looking to hire a Logistics Specialist on a 12 month PAYE contract, to be based at their site in Groby, Leicester. Reporting to the logistics team leader, the purpose of the logistics team is to manage the global shipments in line with the targets of the Groby business.
The ideal candidate will have export shipping experience, a responsible attitude towards the job, and be able to work on their own initiative and will be resourceful in overcoming difficulties.
They will also need to be a team player who is reliable and competent. A high level of accuracy will be required, with the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
A knowledge of SAP is desirable but not essential but must be able to use Microsoft Office particularly Word & Excel
Duties will include:
• Goods Receiving/Transferring – Receiving product from internal and external suppliers on to the ERP system (SAP) in preparation to shipping to customers.
• Processing material and documentation for shipping orders out to customers, preparing items ready for despatch and verifying paperwork.
• Booking in on customer portals as required.
• Organising documentation to facilitate export and domestic shipments, in accordance with site and HMRC requirements.
• Booking shipments with couriers & freight forwarders.
• Obtaining the required proof of delivery and keeping records.
• Prioritising of shipments to meet customer request dates.
• Assisting with picking components and packing if required.
• Liaising with internal departments such as Customer Care, Planning & Service; carriers and other internal staff in a professional and courteous manner.
• Flexibility and able to work additional hours at peak times particularly quarter ends.
Rate of pay:
£13.00 per hour
