The Role:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a member of the Facilities Engineering Team. This team provides engineering, integrity management and maintenance expertise to support their joint venture partnerships and operations.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Provide mechanical engineering subject matter expertise, integrity and maintenance proficiency and challenge to operations and projects in both non-operated and operated assets.
- Lead mechanical and integrity related operational interventions and support failure and incident investigations as required.
- Participate in gate reviews, peer assists, risk assessments and hazard analysis as required.
- Drive facilities optimization efforts for both non-operated and operated assets with a specific focus on mechanical integrity and operations.
- Utilize data to identify engineering modifications to drive out the root cause of unreliability, losses and integrity issues across the operations and provide specialized knowledge on troubleshooting.
- Support the development of fit-for-purpose Standards and Procedures relevant to facilities engineering and risk management providing the relevant pipeline integrity and operations expertise.
- Provide mechanical engineering, integrity and maintenance expertise to due diligence efforts for potential Merger and Acquisition opportunities.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline together with Professional Engineer or Chartership status.
- Proven track record of global Oil & Gas experience covering mechanical engineering integrity and maintenance in both operations and development project environments.
- Deep experience in pipeline and pressure systems integrity management and operations, flow assurance and materials.
- Working knowledge and demonstrable application of applicable international codes and standards (e.g. ASME, ANSI, ISO).
- Knowledge of pipeline and pressure systems damage mechanisms and an ability to assimilate and analyze data and provide risk assessments with recommendations for action.
- Experience as an informed buyer of advanced numerical analysis (FEA, CFD) would be an advantage.
- Experienced in operations and project start up, execution and close out of large-scale projects.
- Minimum 10 years in an Engineering or E&P company.
- Experience in West Africa operations is considered preferable.
