The role is an initial 12 month contract inside of IR35
Role
- Manage capital projects: Up to GBP 2m total per annum
- Indirect reports: Multiple project teams up to 20 people total (contractor staff)
- Direct management of engineering capital projects; ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with business requirements and within agreed cost and safety parameters.
- Project Management is defined as “The planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of a project and the motivation of all those involved in it to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified cost, quality, safety and performance”.
- Manage projects directly: Agree, set and achieve challenging success criteria for projects and formulate and deliver project execution strategies to achieve delivery through a project team composed mainly of third parties (e.g. staff, designed construction contractors and equipment suppliers).
- Define, estimate, deliver and track and report safety, costs and physical progress of individual capital projects
- Ensure full integration between design, construction and commissioning (start-up) phases of projects.
The successful applicant will require the following skills, qualification and experience:
- 5 years’ experience working as a Project Manager, with an emphasis on building services and life science experience preferred
- Experience of working within multi-disciplined teams (electrical, mechanical and civil disciplines)
- HSE supervision experience a must
- Experience of permit to work systems.
- Experience of the risk assessment process.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND or similar in Building Services Engineering
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from PMI (or equivalent)
- Degree in engineering (preferred)
