The client, an oil and gas operator, requires an accountant for their financial department. This role will be based in their London offices and will be on a contract basis.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- To validate invoices received ensuring they comply with contract terms and conditions
- Process accounts payable transactions in accordance with all relevant internal and fiscal policies and procedures ensuring compliance with contractual obligations using the SAP accounting system
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
- To communicate with suppliers and internal departments in order to resolve invoice disputes and general queries
- To respond to queries and information requests from internal departments, suppliers and external / internal auditors
- To process various journals using the SAP accounting system
- To prepare quarterly vendor reconciliation statements to SAP records
- To review vendor accounts and ensure that all open items are paid and cleared on a timely basis
- To perform regular review of parked invoices in SAP and chase technical departments for unapproved invoices.
- To assist with intercompany payable and receivable invoicing, (including job order related matters and credit control) and any other ad-hoc finance related tasks as and when required
- Assist with filing and archiving of Accounts Payable documents and reports
- Take a flexible approach to the allocation of work within the Accounting Team as to what may get assigned to you.
- To provide SAP assistance to other internal departments as required
- To ensure adherence to the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures and standards
- To fully comply with Code of Ethics and Compliance Model
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Economics, Business Management or equivalent preferred or qualified by experience.
Required Experience and Technical Competencies (relevant experience and technical skills):
- Good command of Excel
- A high standard of SAP knowledge
- Materials Management contract SAP experience preferred (i.e. approvals of PO’s via contracts/ or producing service entries etc.)
- Previous relevant experience in a similar role/position preferred
