The Global Energy Client are looking for 2 Permit to Work Advisors to work on phase 4 of the Jansz Io Compression project, with the role starting in Perth, followed by a transition to a 2:2 roster back to back in April 2023.
The Permit to Work Advisor will be part of the J-IC Pre-Ops team supporting the construction, commissioning, and start-up of the J-IC Floating Compression Station (FCS) BWI scope of work. This position will initially be Perth based transitioning to a site-based position on Barrow Island, with mobilization to site aligned with the commencement of site construction.
Position Description / Scope of Work
This position will be focused on supporting the permit to work system to ensure work is conducted safely with the application of sufficient risk mitigation for construction, commissioning and start-up for the power and communications from the Gorgon LNG Plant to a tie-in location on the BWI shoreline (at White’s Beach) for onward transmission to the FCS via submarine power cable
Duties & Responsibilities prior to site mobilisation (Perth based):
• Subject expert in the clients Managing Safe Work (MSW) 2.0 Permit System
• Conversant in intended construction and commissioning scope for Barrow Island.
• Development of construction and commissioning permit matrices.
• Provide support and training to construction and commissioning work pack developers.
• Develop site MSW application, process, and physical requirements
Duties & Responsibilities onsite (after mobilsation to Barrow Island)
• Ensure Application of relevant TCC codes. (OE-03.06.3121)
• Review of high risk permits for risk mitigation, ABU – Permit to Work MSW Manual (OE-03.06.1075).
• Permit Hut location & management
• Working closely with Area Operator for permit sign on management
Isolation of Hazardous energy.
• Understanding any current long-term isolations.
• Establishment of boundary isolations working to define “construction area of responsibility and isolations of energy sources.
• Work with relevant stakeholders, Comm’s, Controls, BWI- HV Advisor in development of Isolation lists and switching operations.
SIMOPS Review
• Conversant and representing execution scope at daily SIMOPS meeting
• Tracking of open permits and application of mitigations to minimize accumulative risk.
• Providing graphical (drawing mark-up) tracking of permits for SIMOPS
• Ensure Operations are confident that site risks are managed to ALARP levels.
Bypass Critical Protection
• Ensure permits are designed and BCP initiation form are requested in a timely fashion to enable Operations to process.
• Work closely with PTL/Production Coordinator for approvals
• Work with Operations to determine/manage how to best manage BCP register.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Managed Permits in a major hazardous facility
• A minimum of 3 years permit management required
• Familiarity with Gorgon Asset is desirable
• Familiarity with MSW 2.0 is desirable
• High level of accountability and demonstrated experience with stakeholder management
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to develop positive working relationships at all levels
• Willingness to assist others
