The Subsea Integration (SI) team currently manage three contracts, Baker Hughes for the design and supply of the Jansz manifold and subsea tie in spools, Nexans for the design, manufacture, and installation of the HV power cable systems, and Saipem for all transport and installation scopes, including the hook up of the FCS and mooring system which is termed Offshore Installation Contract (OIC).

Position Description / Scope of Work

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a SCMS Fabrication Superintendent to join the Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) Team.

This position will support all aspects of monitoring progress, ensuring quality and technical requirements are met, and work is being conducted in a safe manner. This position covers fabrication, manufacture, testing and loadout of the SCMS structures, spools and associated intervention tooling, the SCMS Fabrication Superintendent is a site-based role in Henderson WA. The position will also assist in support of the SCSt mudmat’s Fabrication (also in Henderson).


Key Accountabilities:

• Liaise with Subsea Equipment Vendor (SEV) fabrication site manager on a daily basis to validate and assess progress, and capture key threats to the fabrication schedule, integrity and delivery.
• Independent monitoring and reporting of onsite activities and resourcing. Tracking and validating progress to meet schedule requirements.
• Compile weekly progress reports for submission to Company to allow for early detection of issues within the SEV managed build program, and subsequent management intervention as required.
• Regular progress meetings with the Company SCMS Package Lead to review progress reporting.
• Participation in weekly Subsea Integration Team (SI) meetings.
• Representing the client in SEV site audits and workshops as required.
• Liaise with Validation Body during site visits as directed by the Project Quality Specialist.
• Ensure that mechanical completion records and priorities are being met for validation purposes.
• Ensure manufacturing documentation (MDR) is kept up to date
• Input into the development of punch-lists and close out of action items where applicable
• On-site review of Technical Queries (TQ’s), concession requests and deviations, and assist in the resolution by the Lead Package Engineer.
• Act as back-up for on-site quality coordinator as directed by the Project Quality Specialist
• Ensure correct handling and storage of customer provided items (CPI) as applicable and ensuring SEV’s site receival and OS&D procedures are being following. Monitor SEV’s equipment receival and handling procedures to ensure the correct and agreed handling and preservation specifications are being adopted.
• Record keeping and details reporting and general coordination support to the project SIT Manager during the SIT phase. Assist as required during the subsequent load out of the major structures and spool kits, and Company owned non-permanent works to Perth based designated aftermarket facility in conjunction with Company Operations team.

Qualifications & Experience:
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar capacity (subsea hardware) in the oil and gas industry
• Knowledge of execution strategies related to specialist subsea structure fabrication including heavy structural steel fabrication, exotic large bore and small bore piping fabrication, subsea valve integration, controls equipment integration, factory acceptance testing, post-manufacture Site Integration Testing (SIT) support and load out activities.
• Understanding of the principles of quality management systems, fabrication qualification processes and inspection techniques related to specialty fabrication projects.
• The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a sound understanding of fabrication works, contracting strategies and associate risk management techniques.
• Communicates effectively, both written and verbal; thoughts are well organized and able to deliver a clear message.
