The Job Opportunity
The Norsea Terminal is currently recruiting for Projects Cost Engineer (contract position) – Start date: ASAP.
The position will be a contract role working for Fircroft.
As a member of the Finance team, you will support the projects work programme with generation of project cost estimates, preparation of annual budgets, creation of work breakdown structures and ongoing monitoring / reporting of expenditure. Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
Project Cost Control
- Ongoing monitoring/reporting of expenditure.
- Monthly cost report for AFE and minor projects.
- Control of AFE documents prior to submission, including scope, estimate development, cost baseline and schedule.
- Prepare annual submission of project spend into Long Range Plan.
- Maintenance and development of the Long-Term Forecast for Projects & Maintenance.
- Assist functional leads and engineers with monthly reforecasting in line with finance calendar.
- Undertake QS activities to include progress measurements and contract cost validation.
- Support accounts payable activities for projects.
- Maintain accuracy of all project work orders including settlement rules.
- Ensure all costs are ultimately recorded against the correct Joint Venture company.
- Support month-end processes such as accruals, invoice payments and VOWD calculations.
- Support the supervisor to monitor the contract value, ensuring that the work scope is effectively delivered, and the appropriate process approval is followed.
- Minimum degree level in finance, engineering or equivalent – Essential
- Multi-discipline project estimating and cost control experience in the oil and gas industry or other regulated industry – Essential
- Member of professional body ACostE - Desirable
- Excellent communication and workload management skills – Essential
- Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP - Essential
- Appropriate physical and mental capability to undertake the role – Essential
- Hold a full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate – Essential
