The Client is currently looking for a Senior Contracts Adviser on a permanent basis. Located in Aberdeen, UK with hybrid working on offer.
Purpose of Role:
• The Senior Contracts Advisor plays a key role in the development and execution of Supply Chain Category / Project Strategies for the Client. The Senior Contracts Advisor is required to undertake and lead various activities through the Plan, Source and Manage contracting phases for a variety of significant contracts for Client.
MAE/MATTE and HSE Critical Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Client HSES procedures.
• Ensure all Supply Chain contracts are placed with appropriate consideration and coverage of HSES requirements for all relevant parties.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence Level:
• Work with internal stakeholders to develop overall demand forecasts for input into Category Strategies
• Participate in and provide input into annual reviews of Category Strategies
• Identify and understand commercial needs from internal stakeholders and collaboratively propose solutions that take account of market conditions, risks and business drivers
• Develop and implement high quality documentation for bidding & bid evaluation activity with the relevant contract team (including technical owner, HSES rep etc) for all requirements in the assigned portfolio and in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Liaise with key stakeholders to co-ordinate the compilation of robust contract award recommendations that fully justify the selection of the preferred supplier
• Draft and develop Contracts and Contract Amendments as well as robust Contract Management Plans including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Ensure delivery and efficient management of a portfolio of contracts in line with agreed Contract Management Plans
• Manage supplier relationships effectively and collaboratively drive continuous performance improvement
• Build and maintain strong network in the market, being fully aware of forthcoming opportunities and supplier developments
• Collaborate with:
o Internal stakeholders in development and execution of strategies and sourcing activities driving towards value maximisation [Pre-award Phase]
o Internal and external (suppliers) stakeholders in ensuring delivery of maximum value and management of risk for all contracts within the allocated portfolio . [Post-award Phase]
• Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager.
Critical Skills, Qualifications Experience, etc.:
• Degree level (Business Management, Quantity Surveying or Law) and/or proven long term comprehensive experience within CP
• MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Qualification would be preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in preparing Category Plans, ITTs and drafting contract documents and award recommendations etc., within the Contracts and Procurement function of an energy company
• Appreciation of the technical aspects of an energy company’s operations
• Proven experience in contract negotiations & complex tender evaluation
• Can do attitude,
• Focused on tangible value outcomes for the business, translates strategy to outcomes
• Continuous improvement and simplification mindset
• Awareness of and alignment with Client Values & Business Principles
