Role Summary
The Electrical Engineer will work in a global and multi-disciplinary team, develop highly reliable control systems, and provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Participant in the design, analysis, or evaluation of customer project developments using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Involved in the design, development, and application of BOP's (blow out preventers) electrical and electronic safety control systems
- Select components, address component obsolescence, perform failure analysis, assist with project controls systems and identify improvements for the BOP Control System
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to Engineering Managers and Product Line Leaders
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar (or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years directly related experience)
- 1-2 years of experience in electrical design and development (SBC, PCB, Control Panels, PLC, etc.)
- Experience in circuit board design and failure analysis
- Experience in electrical cabinet design
- Familiarity with control system design and electrical components selection
- Familiarity with control power distribution and networking technology
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Ability to create technical reports, specifications and to interact with internal and external customers
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
- Knowledge of Oil and Gas applications and regulation is preferred
- Ability to work across disciplines and organizations in a team environment
- "Can do" attitude, and will embrace a challenge with enthusiasm
- Quick learner and self-starter
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status
