MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS

• Hierarchical relationship: QAQC Leader

• To supervise a high degree of welding work to the construction and work teams of the Platform (Wellhead platform, jacket, topsides and piles).

• To ensure welding quality by technical inspections as per defined Quality Control plan

• To ensure that welding works are carried out by Contractor and Subcontractor in accordance with project specifications and standards.

• To achieve maximum technical benefit by ensuring international standards and project specifications are maintained on the facilities.

• To provide technical guidance to contractor and subcontractor work teams.

• To provide a high degree of welding during the construction of the Platform.

• To control the risers welding work performed by contractor with the support of Pipeline Materials specialists

• Witness inspection activities based on the Quality Control Plan (ITP).

 

ACTIVITIES

HSE

• To achieve and to make achieve to the personnel, contractors / subcontractors the HSE rules of the company.

• To achieve the goals and annual aims of the Project.

• To participate in HSE audits and visits to construction sites.

• To raise anomalies cards for any unsafe/safe situation observed


Technical

Welding Procedures and Welder Qualification

• To ensure that:

- welding procedure specifications proposed by the contractor are acceptable and cover the complete welding scope

- welding procedure qualifications on site are performed in accordance with specifications and codes

- welders are properly qualified

- all welders have valid qualification for the work they are undertaking

- welding quality is maintained to acceptable standards

- repair rates are maintained at acceptable levels

- NDT and production tests are performed in accordance with specifications and codes in terms of quality and frequency.

Control of Welding Work Performed by the Contractor and Subcontractor

• To ensure that that:

- fit-ups are acceptable

- pre-heat and post-heat are properly applied

- proper welding procedures are observed and proper welding consumables are used.

- Welding consumables management by CTR/SUBCTR is as per requirements

Weld Acceptance

• To ensure that weld acceptance by the contractor/subcontractor is performed in accordance with specification and codes.

• To verify all requests for relaxations/deviations made by the contractor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Confirmed welding expertise, with at least 10 years’ experience in large international projects.

• Welding, certified to - AWS CWI or CSWIP Grade 3.1

• Welding, NDT on piping and steel structures experience in construction of offshore platforms; knowledge of American, UK and EN standards; good experience of NDE procedures.

• Perfect knowledge of welding test practices.

• Fluency in English and Italian

• Italian speaker is preferable
