Contract: IT Project Manager / Perth

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Project Manager to join a Major Global Operator to oversee all IT Infrastructure projects in Australia on a 3 year contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-impact projects and portfolio through waterfall and agile project management methodologies while maximizing effectiveness and performance from inception, execution and hand over to IT Operations.

• Drive portfolio and project objectives with business value in mind at all stages of the lifecycle, and particularly when responding to challenges and change. Recommend and secure appropriate support for acceptable course of action when changes are required (scope, cost, schedules, quality, value).

• Development of business cases, scoping of high-level requirements, drafting project execution strategy, prioritization of projects.

• Managing project and portfolio resourcing, cost and schedule.

• Delivery of projects within the portfolio.

• Managing a team of Project Managers (staff and contract PM’s).

• Compliance to the Project Delivery Framework and processes.

• Mobilize and lead teams composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organizational boundaries and the natural team. Ensure they have the necessary skills, capacity and experience to achieve the required outcomes.

• Ensure that all deliverables, whether software, infrastructure, processes, products or business change are fit for purpose, meet all relevant requirements and are effectively transitioned to support and business-as-usual.

• Keeping all stakeholders informed on Project Portfolio performance through regular reporting and chairs Project Portfolio Governance meetings and ensures alignment on key decisions and project priorities.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in managing IT Infrastructure, Network and Field Telecommunication projects.

• 3+ years of experience in portfolio management

• Proven people leadership and management skills

• Experience delivering project through in collaboration with non-IT delivery teams, such as facility engineering and management teams, with ability to deliver within site specific safety and management of change processes.

• Experience to deliver projects through multiple teams, including remote teams and 3rd party vendors

• Experience in managing contracts and strong experience managing project budgets and forecasting.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering projects safely in an operational facility, including management of Health and Safety of staff and 3rd party contractors and vendors.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to facilitate governance meetings and ensure key decision makers are aligned on key decisions.

• PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile PM (or equivalent) certifications and demonstrated experience delivering projects within these frameworks.

• Have appropriate level of knowledge of relevant technologies, industry standards, and services - including but not limited to: Network & Voice Infrastructure, End user computing, IAM, Cloud (Azure, AWS), SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, API Integrations, On-Premise Hosting, Cloud-Native Architectures, ERP, Information Security principles and standards (expert knowledge not required but adequate understanding and ability to drive projects using these standards is key).
