Description:
The Global Energy client is looking for a GIS Analyst to join their team. As a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analysist, you will be responsible for the development and support of GIS solutions and data.
The main elements are:
•Promote and assist developing high quality GIS products and solutions in a timely and professional manner including mapping, data management and analysis.
•Execute relevant workflow processes of acquisition, verification, storage and maintenance of GIS spatial data and associated attribute/metadata.
•Implement information management processes to manage GIS data environment
•Convert data for loading to GIS platforms. Perform appropriate quality assurance to ensure data validity and accuracy. Identify opportunities to automate these processes where possible.
•Quality assurance of GIS solutions and data
•Provide map creation back-up to asset teams; handle complex mapping requests
•Assist users in customizing their GIS project files to optimize performance
Support to Customers
Provide GIS support to customers by:
•Building relationships with stakeholders and information owners.
•Enabling customers to perform their roles by providing the relevant tools and processes
•Raise awareness of customers GIS capabilities
•Provide appropriate end user documentation
•Execute appropriate end user training
Opportunity assessment and stakeholder management.
•Work in collaboration with appropriate resources to identify, develop and implement GIS technologies
•Keep abreast of GIS technologies. Actively participate in GIS CoP’s. Identify best practices that can be leveraged from other BU’s and industry. Promotion GIS standards, processes and best practice to stakeholders.
Operational Excellence and Compliance Assurance
•Consistently use change, service and incident management processes.
•Ensure all incidents are input into IT Reliability tool. RCAs are completed and action items are addressed.
•Create and maintain system and process documentation.
People, Teams and Interfaces
•Actively participate in Agile ceremonies
•Develop effective working relationships with project team members and peers.
Information owners
• Vendors
•Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional responsibilities and new challenges
•Actively demonstrates the way behaviors and promotes Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture
