The company has a current vacancy for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to work at our Teesside Operations.
Reporting to the Programmes & Shutdowns Team Leader working within a small team of engineering professionals, the candidate will be responsible for the development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline projects (predominantly electrically biased), from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction and Commissioning.

Competency Requirements
Reporting to the Programmes & Shutdowns Team Leader working within a small team of engineering professionals, the candidate will be responsible for the development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline projects (predominantly electrically biased), from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction and Commissioning.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop initial technical specifications;
- Actively participate in safety and design and construction reviews;
- Prepare scope of works and participate in bid analysis;
- Develop cost estimates and programmes, incorporating vendor estimates and schedules;
- Provide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with those affected by the project as required;
- Proactive management of the project with diligent control of any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation;
- Analysis of problems with technical input to support the development and execution of multi-discipline projects with a technical expertise towards electrical discipline although a level of competency with instrumentation is desirable.
- Responsible for Project cost control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work is effectively and efficiently delivered;
- Contribute to risks reviews and risk assessments;
- Attend FAT’s and provide quality assurance for construction activities;
Competency Requirements
- Degree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status);
- Strong project engineering and technical background in electrical discipline;
- Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering small to medium scaled multi-disciplined projects;
- Experience of switchboards (MCC’s), transformers, motors and generators would be beneficial;
- Experience of high voltage (11Kv) electrical systems would be beneficial;
- Experience of Emerson DeltaV and DeltaV SIS would be beneficial but not essential;
- Extensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry;
- Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Mechanical, Static Vessel, Rotating Equipment, Civil and Asset Integrity;
- Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etc;
