Our team in Aberdeen are now looking for an Accountant.
- Review and post monthly salaries and all salary related entries for both Angolan entities
- Perform monthly review of balance sheet accounts to ensure accounting treatment accurate and ad hoc analytical tasks
- Prepare and post Bank transactions weekly and in accordance with Policy for all bank accounts in Angola
- Ensure all WHT adjustments are correctly reflected in Customer accounts and support Cost Controlling team in line with Policies
- Preparation & approval of balance sheet reconciliations, including responsibility to close out any identified discrepancies
- Review Petty Cash Count Monthly and updating of cash books
- Prepare for review and post monthly prepayments and accruals for both entities
- Process routine month end journals and raise invoices when required with appropriate back up for review
- Provide assistance to internal customers in relation to compliance with Aker Solutions Accounting Principles and related Procedures
- Support chief accountants and colleagues, through analysis, communicating results and ensuring timetables are delivered throughout the month
- Assist Africa Accounting Services with ad-hoc projects
- Junior accountant, or qualified by experience - part qualified
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience using SAP or EAP systems
- Ability to listen to positive and negative views and be able to influence and persuade others in decision making processes
- Ability to manage own workload to ensure responsibilities are completed in-line with Corporate timetables
- Proactive and flexible
- Quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to assess and resolve problems in a timely manner
