The global client in Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Analyst to join the Jansz Io Compression (J-IC) Project team. This role will be based in Perth and will report directly to the Cost Engineering & Project Services Manager.
This position requires an experienced Cost Analyst who has demonstrated strong collaboration, analytical and communication skills to assist delivering a set of project deliverables. A strong understanding of semi-submersible platform’s engineering and fabrication work scopes from a cost perspective, will greatly assist with the role.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to align diverse internal functional groups, and external JVP’s around the development plan. A history of performance and establishing relationships is a key success factor for this role. This work scope is ~$1B with high complexity with a significant number of stakeholders who are geographically located in multiple countries.
Key responsibilities:
• Coordinate Value of Work Done (VOWD), Performance Measurement, Forecasting and variance commentary, CE-MOC Budget Management, Commitment reporting, and all Cost Control activities for the assigned FCS scope packages.
• Provide Contractor’s oversight and cost process assurance of assigned work packages ensuring costs are monitored / reported in compliance with approved Contractor Project Controls Plan (CPCP) and invoices are properly validated
• Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors and Package leads, guiding the team in all cost related issues for assigned packages
• Manage budgeting and cost control activities for assigned minor packages including affiliates work order (GO-113) and third parties Service Requests (SR)
• Support monthly evaluation of overall cost performance (S-curve, productivity, indirect manhour ratio, CPI, SPI), analysis of trends, assessment and recording of Risks, Vulnerabilities & Opportunities (RVOs), project cost extrapolation and provide forecasting insights to highlight issues and concerns
• Manage all Package cost data in Omega iPIMS (cost database) and prepare Package cost information for the monthly Project Services Status Review (PSSR), in accordance with the project reporting dates and in close alignment with the Reporting Coordinator
• Support Cost Control Lead with Package inputs to be used for Integrated Cost and Schedule Assurance Reviews (ICSA)
• Provide support and input as required for generation of project control procedures, processes and guidelines for execution and support of contractor tender packages
Key skills and experience required:
• The role requires an experienced Cost Analyst who is experienced with major capital projects
• Extensive 15+ years’ experience in developing and managing cost engineering work processes, procedures, and tools to develop quality, reliable, predictable project cost forecasts, and cost risk management/mitigation plans; and then manage project execution through sound project controls
• Ability to build relationships across the project team, engage the leadership team, and effectively communicate for decision making. Ability to align multi-disciplinary groups around the project development plan (Engineering, Supply Chain, CEPS, etc).
• Leadership skills including communication and influencing with local teams and remotely located at Contractor sites, are critical for success in the role
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts/processes/opportunities to decision makers
• Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
• Demonstrated commitment to the companies values of diversity and inclusion, high performance, integrity and trust, partnership and protecting people and the environment
This role might be required to undertake periodic field travel to engage with key stakeholders and execute the culture based One Team Alignment strategy. Former experience with culture-based safety/leadership programs and implementation of OE/HES systems is preferred.
