We are working along side an Oil & Gas regulator in search of a Work Health & Safety Advisor within their HR department.
The role will be on a fixed 12 month contract working full time Monday to Friday based in the Perth CBD.

The responsibilities of the role:
- Provide work health & Safety (WHS), wellbeing and operational services on a range of corporate WHS and wellbeing activities including maintaining the client’s WHS policies and procedures, administering the management of hazards and incidents and coordinating the annual wellbeing program.
- Provide advice, train, educate and engage with stakeholders on WHS and wellbeing, including attending Health, Safety and Environment Committee meetings.
- Manage the WHS representatives, including Fire Wardens and First Aid Officers.
- Develop, implement, monitor and report on WHS and wellbeing activities.
- Comply with the client’s business policies and processes including: financial, communication, information, records management and human resource practices; the Australian Public Service Values and Code of Conduct; and requests and directions from the Head of Division and Chief Executive Officer.
- Undertake other duties as directed.
Experience required:
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, guidelines and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering WHS and wellbeing services, including the development and implementation of WHS policies and procedures.
- Well developed research, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Well developed written and oral communication skills and negotiation skills, including ability to work constructively with a range of stakeholders.
- Well developed organizational and administrative skills including strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and control own workload, ability to suggest improvements to work processes and tasks to improve efficiencies and work health and safety services.
- Demonstrated knowledge and capacity to apply and promote ethical work practices, the APS Values, Code of Conduct and occupational health and safety in all aspects of work.
- A tertiary qualification in work health and safety and/or a minimum of five years’ experience in work health and safety position.
- You can pass a pre employment medical and any pre-employment character background checks
- You are an Australian Citizen
- You currently reside in Perth, Western Australia
