Do you have safety engineering experience, and are you seeking a new contract in Leatherhead? If so, we want to hear from you! This safety engineering role is for a 12-month renewable contract and comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.


As a flexible Safety Engineer, you supervise and coordinate the safety engineering-related activities performed by the FEED Contractor. You will also provide project and cost management in liaison with other disciplines. In addition, you will prepare technical papers to support the management's position for clarifications and decisions with regulatory authorities of host countries, other entities or partners.


In your first few weeks in this Safety Engineer role, you can expect to:
  • Coordinate deviation requests to the project referential promptly and with due consideration to cost and schedule
  • Participate in and organise essential project reviews, plot plan reviews, HAZOP reviews, constructability reviews and design/model review meetings
  • Review safety documents per industry standards, codes and specifications
  • Produce comments in due time, explain to the contractor and follow up on the implementation
  • Review and propose answers to possible technical queries and derogations to project specifications related to your discipline
  • Contribute to the evaluation of engineering, procurement, construction, installation and review/approval of deliverables from the design contractor



To apply for this safety engineering job, you will need advanced expertise in safety engineering in the oil and gas industry, especially in onshore fields. You will also require expertise in projects at all life-cycle stages of development, including FEED, basic and detailed engineering, etc. In addition, you should have knowledge and expertise in the following:
  • International safety codes
  • Safety software such as PHAST and FlareSIm
  • Sour Gas Service design
  • QRA methodology, risks assessment, safety distances calculations and 3D CFD simulations
  • Greenhouse gas and energy
