Water Infrastructure NSW (WINSW) is responsible for the development and delivery of a range of projects in the northern region.
The purpose of the Services is to provide project management to support WINSW’s development of three of the projects. The intent is that the Project Managers will be integrated into WINSW delivery teams. The Project Managers will oversee the delivery of the project and will report to WINSW Project Director.
Three Project Managers are required to deliver these projects within agreed timeframes. The three projects requiring project management services are:
A new two-way water transfer pipeline between the Lostock Dam and Glennies Creek Dam. New pumping stations to be constructed at:
a) Upstream of Lostock Dam Wall - Comprises of submersible pumps on a floating pontoon and large booster pumps within the station
b) Glennies Creek Dam
A submerged pipe and diffuser discharge arrangement below the water surface within each dam.
New electricity transmission infrastructure to support electrical connection at the Lostock pumping station.
Road infrastructure improvements, including bridge structures.
The project is in the development and investigation stage with the major deliverable being the Final Business Case.
Proposed pipeline between Nyngan & Cobar. The existing supply is in an ongoing state of failure with the existing Nyngan Pump Station not operational.
The project seeks to replace the existing pipeline and pumping infrastructure to provide long-term water supply reliability for the region and continued water security for the Cobar region.
Key project outcomes are to:
a) Improve water reliability and quantity of water supply to Cobar and the surrounding area. Providing a consistent and reliable water supply to all resident and non-resident water users
b) Improve water quality to Cobar and surrounding communities
The project is in the detailed design stage.
Wilcannia Weir
The Wilcannia Weir was constructed in 1942 for the purpose of providing a more reliable town water supply to Wilcannia. Water levels have since decreased due to development activities, causing the river to be altered and removed from the community of Wilcannia.
Key project outcomes are to:
a) To provide long term water supplies to preserve and enhance the social, economic and environmental benefits for Wilcannia, its people and its surrounds
The project is in the detailed design stage.
The Project Managers will oversee the delivery of the project and will report to WINSW Project Director. The Project Managers must be available during normal business hours Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 5.00pm (maximum 8 hour day)
The Project Managers must have:
Demonstrated relevant experience in project management across major infrastructure projects
Demonstrated relevant experience in all stages of a complex infrastructure project lifecycle including project development environmental approvals, procurement, construction, and handover
