They have a permanent opportunity for a Project Controls Analyst to be based out of their refinery in Commerce City, CO.
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a motivated yet detailed individual to establish, maintain and report on integrated project control plans, costs, and schedules per the standards as applicable. This candidate will work under the functional direction of the Team Lead Project Controls while supporting the Project Manager and Turnaround Team.

Job Summary
Our client is looking for a motivated yet detailed individual to establish, maintain and report on integrated project control plans, costs, and schedules per the standards as applicable. This candidate will work under the functional direction of the Team Lead Project Controls while supporting the Project Manager and Turnaround Team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the execution of a project as outlined in the ADEM plan for cost and schedule.
- Collaboratively develops with the project team, the projects work breakdown structure for cost and schedule, for control and integrity of work.
- Opens, maintains, and closes project statuses in SAP with input from the project manager.
- Responsible for the correct WBS network activity/coding on all requisitions.
- Responsible for development and progressing of project schedules. Facilitate as applicable, interactive planning sessions to develop the projects schedule meeting ADEM requirements for current stage of project.
- Responsible for development and maintaining a total project cost report. Reporting frequency will vary, but at minimum cost reports will be developed monthly and reviewed with project management.
- Collaboratively develops and maintains monthly cash flow that reflects the total project spend plan and project schedule. Cash flow will be reviewed and approved by the project manager prior to updating the system data.
- Loads and maintains the current plan versions into (SAP) based on approved project control plan and WBS structure.
- Tracks and submits for Project Managers approval monthly accruals for each project.
- Support the project close out process for cost and schedule. Expedites the closing of purchase orders with input from the SCM and project team throughout the project’s life cycle.
- Responsible for supporting the change management process per the procedure for cost and schedule activities.
- Works collaboratively with project estimator as required in developing project estimates and estimate review process.
- Exercises good judgement consistent with corporate and business unit goals.
- Reports/analyzes information produced by project controls systems against baselines in SAP and 3rd party reporting.
- Reports variance in control plan for cost and schedule.
Requirements
- Relevant University degree or minimum 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with scheduling and cost management throughout a project’s lifecycle
- Ability to work independently to develop a projects schedule and control budget
- Experience in Primavera (P6) and SAP
- Strong computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office and related tools
- Experience with resource/role loading and leveling
- Ability to comprehend both Engineering and Construction project deliverables
- Knowledgeable in EVM and financial principles
