The valued client is seeking a Facilities Field Operator near Lloydminster, SK. This is a 1-year contract position, working a 7/7 shift.
Reporting to the Supervisor, this position is accountable for day-to-day operations of the facility and ensures it is run in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining the necessary production requirements.
This position is based out of Lloydminster, SK and the successful candidate will be required to reside in the area.
Core Responsibilities:
- Operate the facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team.
- Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Company guidelines.
- Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities. Complete area operations records. (e.g. volume balances, log sheets, work permits and required reports)
- Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site’s operating philosophy. Support on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Company requirements, policies and procedures, while leading by example.
- Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required.
- Participate in the development and review of Safe Operating Procedures. Follow safe operating and chemical handling procedures and ensure environmental impact is minimized.
- Participate in the site Health and Safety Program. Report all near misses and incidents.
- Participate in incident investigations, as required.
- 1 – 5 years’ experience in operation of oil processing equipment and all associated processes and systems.
- 1 – 5 years’ experience in equipment isolation in preparation for maintenance.
- 1 – 5 years’ experience in safe work permitting and hazard analysis.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in control room setting
- Experience in oil and gas industry, pulp and paper, or plant process experience
- Proficiency with computerized operating systems such as PLC, DCS, or SCADA
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP, Salesforce and PVR (Production volume reporting)
- Basic understanding of safety and regulatory standards and procedures
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
- A valid, clean Class 5 Driver’s license is required. For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A Driver’s abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the Pre-employment Screening for the final candidate.
- Gas Process Operations (GPO) / Production Field Operations (PFO) levels A-D / I-IV
- Oil & Gas Process Operations (OGPO) levels 100-400
- Petroleum Technologist diploma or technical diploma from a recognized technical college
- Journeyman trades certification
- There will be some physical demands (i.e. sitting, standing, lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling etc.
- Role requires occasional use of power and pneumatic tools, shop tools and frequent use of manual tools
- Working in various conditions/exposures such as noise, heights, confined spaces, cold/heat, uneven surfaces, days/nights, chemicals, toxic gases, rotating equipment etc.
