Contract: Cost Control Specialist IV / Edmonton

 

Job Title: Cost Control Specialist IV
Location: Calgary, AB
Contract Length: 1 year
Schedule : Mon-Fri

Summary:

• Work with Project and Program Managers to perform cost management activities for the purposes of ensuring monthly financial reporting deadlines can be met. These activities include, but are not limited to, compiling and reconciling accounting transactions, preparing accruals, assessing time sheet entries, and supporting reporting, including variance reporting.
• Maintain and report on Pipeline Control, Systems, and Leak Detection (PCSLD) portfolio financial controls, including submission of project financials into the accounting systems
• Support Procure to Pay processes, which include tasks such as: monitor commitments, entry of Purchase Order Request, good or services receiving, invoice coding, troubleshooting, liaising with vendors and other internal stakeholders
• Confirm and transact changes to Project Forecasts and Budgets
• Assist with annual budget preparation and cost center reporting

 

Qualifications:

• Must haves

o 10+ years’ experience in project cost control

o Keen attention to detail

o Accounting education and credentials

o Advanced Excel skills

o Excellent verbal/written communication skills

o Time management skills – able to oversee multiple priorities

o Ability to work in team or individually

o Experience/ability using ERP systems

• Nice to have but not required

o CPA

o Oil and Gas Industry background
