The client is a market leader in downstream processing, and they are looking for a Process Engineer to join their team in Wagga-Wagga, NSW. This will be joining a small team of specialist engineers who pride themselves on a team driven performance and an excellent working culture. As their processing of contaminated materials to base (reusable) products is unique, this will be a role where upskilling is essential. Due to this, we are looking for a Chemical Engineering Degree, along with the right attitude and work ethic to train into this role.
 
The role:
 
An exciting opportunity is available for a mid-level degree qualified chemical engineer to join the oil re-refining engineering team. Reporting to the Refinery Manager, you will spend time working in operations, process monitoring/optimisation and small projects across the business's various endeavours. This role provides opportunity for varied experiences in the resource recovery sector, learning and career development. You will be working alongside an intimate and supportive team of engineers, scientists, and operations staff.

Key responsibilities:
  • Daily process and failure monitoring
  • Plant optimisation with regard to yield maximisation and energy efficiency
  • Engineering design and management of onsite projects
  • Review and update of standard operating procedures
  • Provide leadership, knowledge and mentoring to operations staff

The ideal candidate:
  • Tertiary level chemical engineering degree with 3-10 years of industry experience
  • Ideally operational Process / Chemical Engineering experience (Chemical plant, O&G, High Risk Facilities, etc.)
  • Enthusiasm, focus and willingness to "roll up the sleeves"
  • Capability to work autonomously and within teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership potential is a must
