Mechanical Technical Team Member / Billingham

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to the production area on a 7 days per week rota to investigate and resolve faults, carry out root cause analysis and produce work packs for mechanical work.

The successful candidate will:

• Act as first technical point of contact for plant issues, investigating faults in response to notifications, assessing issues to be rectified immediately or scheduled into planned maintenance
• Produce work packs for emergent and routine work, including the overhauls of spares, ensuring work packs are fit for purpose
• Identify improvements/upgrades to improve MTBF & MTTR of plant equipment
• Produce and maintain monthly plant equipment status report and supervise and act as Permit Acceptor as required to meet plant priorities
• Oversee critical mechanical work to ensure job packs are “fit for purpose” using feedback from mechanical technicians
• Coach and deliver training for mechanical technicians and contract personnel to improve work quality, adhering to 'right first time' concept.

The successful candidate will have completed a time served apprenticeship and be educated to HNC level or equivalent. Individuals should have considerable experience working in a high hazard chemical production environment and troubleshooting on rotating mechanical equipment and pressure systems. Competence in basic computing as well as familiarity with SAP PM or similar is essential.
