The client, a global oilfield services company, are looking to hire a Tendering Coordinator on a 12 month PAYE contract, based at their site in Barrow-in-Furness.
The Tendering Coordinator is responsible for producing and submitting formal quotations and tenders for the supply of goods and/or services offered to other entities and to third-party clients.
These can vary in size and complexity, from small-scale quotations through to large-scale global project tenders in excess of USD 10m in value.
It is the responsibility of the role to ensure that all applicable governance procedures are adhered-to and that tenders are properly reviewed and approved in line with financial thresholds, and that target profit margins for third party tenders are maintained.
The role will coordinate inputs from all relevant business functions to assemble the information necessary to create the tender and will liaise directly with clients as the primary point of client contact for tender submission and
fielding any subsequent queries.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Produce and submit quotations/tenders for intra-company supply and commercial quotations/tenders for third-party clients.
- Co-ordinate inputs from other business functions in order to produce accurate tenders
- Ensure that tender review/approval and financial governance processes are adhered-to
- Act as primary point of contact for clients to field any queries and ensure responses are provided by relevant functions
- Organise and lead meetings with third party clients and internal functions to discuss and agree project work scopes
- Maintain an awareness of upcoming projects via the corporate Tender Planning Review process, sales scenario planning process, and relevant stocking programmes.
- Maintain an awareness of business strategy with respect to third-party pricing on a customer-by customer basis and ensure all tenders are compliant
- Engage with the legal function when tendering commercial projects to ensure protection legally and financially when entering into supply contracts (for example via the use of nondisclosure agreements, appropriate terms and conditions, client credit checks etc.)
- Work closely with planning and capacity management functions to ensure that tenders take current plant load into account
- Produce and maintain price/lead-time catalogues as necessary
- Maintain a detailed log of all quotes/tenders submitted and provide relevant metrics to senior management
- Experience of preparing formal quotations
- Experience in a commercial customer-facing role
- Experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Competent in Microsoft Excel or similar
- Sales background would be advantageous
- Contract management qualification would be advantageous
