Principle Structural OSS Engineer / England

I am looking for a Principle Structural OSS Engineer - Offshore wind to be based across the UK and join the offshore wind engineering team. You will be directly involved in the design of our current suite of ongoing projects, contributing to bids and developing broader technical solutions for the business.

My client have made a firm commitment to support the energy transition, and central to this is delivering on renewable energy generation. In order to facilitate this business level initiative, they're rapidly expanding their capabilities within the offshore wind sector and establishing an offshore wind Centre of Excellence. The newly formed offshore wind engineering team (part of the CoE) will bring experience and track record into our already highly skilled workforce and help deliver excellent value to our existing network of offshore wind developers, clients, partners and projects.
Their broader ambitions in the offshore renewable space extend from early-stage concept and feasibility through to delivering full EPC and EPCI packages.

Role Context:

This is a dynamic role that will require not only a firm technical understanding of offshore substation topsides, but also a willingness to work differently. As a fast-growing entity within the group, the offshore wind engineering team will be looking to deliver projects using innovative business models and utilising existing, and developing new, digital solutions and design automation.
As Principal Engineer, you will be directly involved in managing ongoing projects, contributing to bids and developing broader technical solutions for the business.
You’ll supervise, and be supported, by a strong group of engineers.

You'll be:

• Leading structural topside packages for OSS wind projects (from feasibility, through to detailed desgin)
• Providing technical assurance on project deliverables
• Managing engineering delivery teams based in multiple countries/regions
• Interfacing with other packages on multi-disciplinary projects
• Up-skilling existing staff
• Assisting/leading working groups for developing new engineering delivery digital tools
• Working to develop and improve automation within our design processes

You'll have:

• A strong demonstrable track record in HVAC offshore substations topsides (HVDC converter platform will be an added value)
• Detailed technical structural knowledge of offshore substation topside design
• Strong understanding of offshore substation layout and philosophy (think HV/MV systems, drainage, control, etc...)
• Strong knowledge of existing structural digital platforms (think SACS, Sesam, Aveva 3D, Abaqus, Ansys, StaadPro, etc…)
• Deep understanding of offshore relevant codes, standards and best practises
• Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams
• A degree and chartered status in structural engineering (or equivalent)
• 10+ years of relevant experience
