Contract: Project Engineer Subsea / Perth

The Subsea Integration (SI) team currently manage three contracts, Baker Hughes for the design and supply of the Jansz manifold and subsea tie in spools, Nexans for the design, manufacture, and installation of the HV power cable systems, and Saipem for all transport and installation scopes, including the hook up of the FCS and mooring system which is termed Offshore Installation Contract (OIC).

The OIC scope is diverse and has been split into nine clearly defined Work Packages. These can be broadly split into:

1. FCS Mooring and HU

2. Subsea Compression Station and BH Manifold and subsea tie in Spools

3. MV Umbilical's and crossings

4. Pre-Commissioning.

Position Description / Scope of Work
 
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Project Subsea Engineer to join the Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) team. This role will be based in Perth.

The Project Subsea Engineer will support the Senior FCS Project Engineer, the Senior Subsea Engineer - Structures and the OIC Senior Project Engineer in the management of the OIC Contract, including the following responsibilities:

• Coordinate technical interfaces with the OIC team, 3rd Parties and other J-IC delivery teams

• Coordinate actions and mitigation plans to address OIC, other J-IC delivery team(s) risks

• Attend and support J-IC project risk, opportunity, and assurance workshops

• Coordinate the technical input into the contract management of change system

• Review transport and installation (T&I) engineering, including sea fastening and deployment analysis

• Assist the Senior FCS Project Engineer, Senior Subsea Engineer - Structures and OIC Senior Project Engineer with the management of J-IC project documentation

• Assist the OIC team with the coordination of marine warranty reviews and approvals for OIC T&I scopes

• Provide site support for the testing and loadout of the FCS Moorings, umbilical pull in system on the FCS and ancillary equipment.

• Assist and support the OIC Senior Project Engineer with the subsea installation engineering of the other OIC work packages, if required

• Review FCS FEED detailed design documents and coordinate the resolution of any engineering issues prior to readiness reviews for offshore mobilisation, or during the offshore campaign.

• Ensure OIC adheres to company technical requirements and identify and support OIC Senior Project Engineer should changes occur.

• Represent the OIC delivery team at the fabrication yards/facilities as required

• Work closely with the other J-IC package teams and understand the constraints and boundaries in the design, fabrication, and delivery of all the OIC “Company Supplied Materials” inclusive of testing.

• Oversee OIC engineering, transport, installation, hook up & tensioning scope, interface with other J-IC delivery teams to coordinate transport and installation input.

• Coordinate the resolution of any engineering issues prior to readiness reviews for offshore mobilisation, or during the offshore campaign.

This role may require international and /or domestic business travel to support the OIC team through engineering, SITs, load out, transport, and installation work phases.

This role may transition to an offshore role to support the execution of the work.

 
Qualifications & Experience:

 
Technical Skills

• 10+ years’ experience in subsea construction in an Oil and Gas Operator on Major Capital Projects is preferred

• Civil/marine/Structural / Mechanical Engineering degree qualification preferred.

• Experience in OIC contract execution is required

• Previous Installation experience of permanent mooring systems is required

• Previous experience with deep water [ 800msw+) taught mooring systems with polymer synthetic rope and riser systems is preferred
