The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking a Dredging Project Engineer for a multiyear role (Contract will be initially extended until Dec 31st, 2022) in St. Johns, Newfoundland.

In this role you will be responsible for the successful oversight of an exciting, technically challenging dredging program.

Responsibilities:
- Discipline Responsible Engineer for all dredging activities required to support two-out and installation of the CGS
- Discipline Responsible Engineer for all investigative campaigns to support dredging activities
- Review and comment on dredging engineering documentation
- Will oversee work of major execution contractor (dredging contractor) as well as additional supporting contracts (site investigations, consultants, surveyors, etc.)
- Provides input and support to project team in obtaining necessary permits to execute dredging scope
- May be responsible for interface with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Dredging will be executed locally in Argentia, NL however oversight and management will be done at Owner’s St John’s office or at Contractor’s office in Europe.
- Will require onsite attendance in Argentia and onboard vessels during project execution phase

- Contract formation
- Technical design basis and specifications
- Permit applications
- Technical query responses
- Internal reporting
- Regulatory reporting
- Meeting minutes
- Etc.
Responsible for stewarding Owner’s comment responses to Contractor documents such as:
- Execution Plans
- Management Plans
- Specifications
- Drawings
- Surveys
- Progress reports
- Meeting minutes
- Etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (civil, coastal, marine, etc.)
- Eligible for registration with PEGNL
- 10+ years of progressive experience with marine dredging vessels such as cutter suction dredgers and trailing suction hoppers and other marine excavation equipment
- Experience with variety of material disposal methods
- Strong knowledge of environmental engineering, management and monitoring for dredging operations
- Experience as Owner’s or Contractor’s representative on major dredging project is beneficial
- Experience applying your expertise within the Canadian regulatory environment is a plus
