Summary
The Landman is responsible for providing knowledge, research, and coordination of land issues dealing with drilling and operations. He or she will procure and manage the company’s mineral and leasehold interests for an assigned geographical area by obtaining the legal right to drill oil and gas wells on a specific property.

Summary

He or she will procure and manage the company’s mineral and leasehold interests for an assigned geographical area by obtaining the legal right to drill oil and gas wells on a specific property.
Essential Functions
The Landman is responsible for performing a wide array of tasks. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Verify ownership of property where the company seeks to explore for oil and gas
- Negotiate the purchase of oil and gas leases, or assignments of oil and gas leases
- Coordinate with the surface owner and surveyor to stake well locations, lease roads and pipeline ROW’s
- Negotiate surface use agreements and settle damages to support the drilling program and any other operational needs
- Ensure the appropriate steps are taken to meet the company drilling goals and deadlines
- Compile and update land maps that display pertinent land information pertaining to prospects within the assigned area of responsibility
- Update management team on current land positions
- Direct and interact with consultants, field lease brokers and/or regulatory agencies regarding drilling units and permits
- Analyze and resolve issues associated with agreements
Education / Language
- Bachelor’s degree in PLM or Business-related field required
- Must have strong written and verbal skills (English language)
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Inhouse Landman experience required
- Unconventional oil & gas play experience required, experience in Louisiana and Texas preferred
- Strong exposure to lease acquisition and land negotiation dynamics and a high overall understanding of the profession
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written), and able to interact across all levels of the organization
