Contract: Sr. Project Cost Controller / Calgary

The client, a large Oil & Gas midstream company, is currently seeking a Project Cost Controller, based out of head office Calgary AB. This is a fly in and fly out camp-based role with work operations in BC (Kitimat) and candidates can be based at other locations but must report to head office in Calgary at times (preferred to live in Calgary,  Edmonton or Vancouver).

This is a long term contractor scheduled to start sometime June and end May 31, 2023 ( possibility for extension). The schedule is a 21 days on and 7 days off  or 20 days on and 10 days off and 10  - 12  hour days. There is a 75 daily camp bonus and preferred that they are incorporated at this time (not T4).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Responsible for overseeing and analyzing project cost and performance data to establish performance metrics, which support the effective and proactive control of project costs and forecasting.
• Reviews reports, analyses data and proposes recommendations in support of cost management governance.
• Provides input related to improvements and process developments. Considered a Specialist, works independently and demonstrates independent judgment in relation to accountabilities, including compilation and analysis of data.
• Develops risk mitigation and ongoing improvements and developments in projects.
• Identifies opportunities for cost improvements and internal benchmarking within and outside of areas of accountability.
• Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to junior colleagues.
• Represents the department as a key contact, interacting with Project Managers, senior internal and client personnel on significant and complex project governance and controls matters.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10 years plus
• Ideally O&G pipeline experience
