Main Functions:

  • Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the project’s goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Assures accurate and timely communication among the Project Team and other Company functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues. In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze maintenance records to determine instrument failure rates, availability / reliability calculations, bad actor / failure modes identification, and program effectiveness / cost analysis
  • Develop and execute process control surveillance programs
  • Collect and trend process data using company’s multiple process historian database and visualization software tools
  • Perform process control philosophy and stability reviews coupled with execution of control logic updates and loop tuning
  • Conduct criticality assessment and develop equipment strategies/maintenance plans for instrumentations and control systems taking into consideration Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessment, industry standards, regulatory requirement and manufacturer recommendations
Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years" of closely related professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Experience in selection, application, and ISA data sheet specification of hardware including pressure/ temperature /level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire/gas detection
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis with common database and software data analysis tools such as SAP, Analytics for Excel and Tableau
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
Specific Job Requirements/Skills:

  • Conducts SSHE Training, Orientations, Safety Meeting presentations Provides ongoing reviews of compliance for internal safety requirements
  • Serves as local subject matter expert for compliance and / or OI related questions
  • Develops electrical safe work practices and procedures within business unit
  • Develops isolation and electrical safe working maintenance and inspection procedures
  • Participates in electrical incident investigations Interprets applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Performs arc flash studies and recommends mitigation OSHA 1910-269 Standard: specific to line work EL-1 or EL-1J: electrical lineman / lineman journeyman Troubleshoot all Tank Battery and Compressor station, Control and Electrical systems. (PLCs, control wiring, MCCs,)
  • Understanding of working safely around Power Distribution Centers, low and medium voltage electrical equipment such as switch gear, Variable Frequency Drives, Lighting contactors and 24 volt DC control circuits.
  • Design, Build, Expand, Troubleshoot and Safely Repair Medium Voltage Distribution Systems.
  • Understanding of Load Requirements and Calculations. Experience with Electrical Substations, Switching Procedures SEL Equipment and LTC Maintenance.
  • Develop, Implement and Stewardship of PM Processes pertaining to Medium Voltage Distribution.
  • Interfacing with Engineering to Design and Implement Expansions to Distribution Systems and facilities including Central Tank Batteries, Oil CDP’s, Compressor Stations, Salt Water Disposals and Pump/Booster Stations.
  • Safe, Decisive and Responsive approach to troubleshooting and repairing Distribution Systems
