Contract: Safety Risk Engineer / Perth

We are looking for an experienced Safety Risk Engineer to work with one of Western Australia's largest gas distribution companies.

The role will be office based in Jandakot for a 12 month fixed contract working Monday to Friday 7.5 hour days.

Pay rate is from $120,000 - $130,000 annual.

The role will contribute to Gas Division systems and procedures to assure the safety and integrity f the networks high pressure pipelines, pressure control and metering facilities impacted by third party infrastructure projects or construction works.


Your role:

Coordinating /conducting our clients project risk and safety management systems to assure compliance to gas distribution network and petroleum pipeline legislative, Safety Case and internal standards and procedures.

Liaison with external third party infrastructure developers and, or third party risk assessment service providers.

Liaison with internal engineering, risk management, HSE, asset management, construction and operations project stakeholders to assure the safety, integrity, constructability, operability and maintainability of high pressure gas infrastructure.

Preparing project risk assessment position papers /guidelines


 Your experience: 

University degree qualification in Engineering or Science.

Experience in upstream, or downstream chemical, oil and gas processing, transmission pipeline, distribution network or allied industries with risk and process safety responsibilities.

Experience in operation under a Safety Case regime (preferably petroleum pipeline and, or gas distribution network) would be advantageous.

Experience in qualitative risk assessments techniques and, or HAZOP Studies.

Experience in, or application of engineering design principles.

Experience in preparing risk management guidelines.
