The valued client is seeking an Operator 5 (Entry Level) for a 1-year contract in the Edson/Hinton area, AB. Candidates must be local, or willing to relocate to the area (living accommodations not provided)

Job Title:       Operator 5 (Entry Level)

Reports To:   Foreman
Department:  Production - Field      

Reporting to the Foreman, the Operator 5’s responsibilities are as follows:
  • Demonstrate awareness of safety policies by ensuring that company safety standards are met;
  • Work independently on routine tasks, gain an understanding of production cost 
  • Operate wells and associated facilities – gain a full understanding of the day-to-day principles of the operations such as production optimization, troubleshooting production failures, gas engine checks, hydraulic checks, change and zero charts, routine compressor checks, routine dehy checks, blow down scrubbers.
  • Able to perform basic daily maintenance requirements. 
  • Understand data entry requirements and complete routine paperwork.
  • Remain on-call during off hours, as requested, to provide off-hour coverage for facilities.
Qualifications: 

The candidate must have or demonstrate the following:
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Technical and/or Trades education is an asset;
  • No experience required – will train;
  • Willingness to participate in PFO or GPO program;
  • Display mechanical aptitude;
  • Demonstrate understanding of plant and field activities;
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic flows and equipment;
  • Safety ticket(s) such as First Aid Ticket; H2S Alive (field where required); TDG/WHMIS and others would be considered an asset;
  • Be able to perform physical job requirement which may include, but are not limited to, lifting up to 75 lbs and handling repetitive activities such as bending, climbing, twisting, kneeling, sitting, etc.;
  • Effective communication, organizational and team skills complemented with a strong work ethic.
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid 19.
