TAX Free Contractual Job Opportunity has just been made available for an exprienced Construction Superintendent Painting & Coating to be based in Qatar by a leading operating oil and gas company.
Job Purpose:
Ensure execution of Painting/Insulation activities are undertaken in accordance with project needs in general and compatible with project safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives in particular. The initial engagement for the incumbent will be on the painting works for the underground Fresh cooling water network fabrication and installation.
Min Requirements:
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent Technical schooling and a plus would be to have served a trade apprenticeship with Guild or similar certification in NACE, I-COR.
· Good written and verbal English language communication skills.
· Good technical team skills.
· Minimum 15 years’ experience with major oil & gas capital projects in all phases of construction planning, field execution and mechanical completion activities with respect to application of Painting systems, Hot, Cold and Acoustic Insulation, Glass flake lining, Rubber lining and Fireproofing.
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in Construction Supervisory position for either Client or Contractor. International experience, especially Qatar or the Middle East, is preferred.
· Confirmed working knowledge of applicable Coating/Insulation industry standards (SSPC, ISO, ASTM, AWWA, NACE BS 5970).
Technical and Business Skills
· Utilizes a systematic approach to problem solving that ensures accuracy, timeliness and quality of documentation in resolution.
· Able to work moderately complex tasks to completion within time constrains of Project, with minimal guidance from more experienced staff.
· Participates in the resolution of problems in more demanding and less familiar situations using precedent and own acquired knowledge.
· Able to work within a defined role with limited supervision.
· Able to make decisions and solve problems related to a specific discipline/field.
· Responsible for own work product with minimal guidance and oversight from immediate supervisor.
· Establishes credibility with peers and supervisors and makes good use of their time.
· Exercises judgment in making decisions; knows when to seek advice.
