Essential:-   In depth MS Exchange & Exchange on-line (Hybrid State). Hyperflex. EMC SAN Data Domain. Data centre operations & technologies. Proven Experience in Backoffice infrastructure components: Virtualisation, Specifically VMware; ESXi hosts, vCenter administration, Virtual disk operations, VM deployment. Storage: RAID, SAN, DAS, NAS. OS Administration: Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, KMS, Licensing. Backup: EMC Networker & Data Domain, Veaam On Prem & Cloud; Backup / Restore operations, Backup types. Active Directory: User / Computer Management, Group Policy, AD Group Management, Authentication. Exchange: Mailbox management; Import/Export, Mailbox Creation, Quota management, Forwarders, Archiving. Microsoft System Monitoring & Configuration Management: Systems Centre; SCOM, SCSM, SCCM, ARC & inTune. Azure Services: ASR & AFS, managing Azure & on prem workloads.

University degree in the field of Engineering / IT or related discipline. MCSE Core Infrastructure. MCSA Windows Server 2016. A proven track record in Back Office service delivery- minimum 10 years of experience. Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Desirable).

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the delivery & support of over 100 virtual & standalone servers & storage/back up infrastructure that is installed in two main Data Centres plus out of country DR.

Senior Systems Engineer will be working in a in a fast-changing environment. You will be required to maintain trouble free operations, resolving operational issues & implementing project & change activity to agreed costs & timescales, maintaining quality & ensuring compliance with relevant governance, regulations, standards & policies.

Senior Systems Engineer Key Accountabilities   

• Coach & develop staff through on the job training.
• Manage your formal training plan ensuring your skills & capabilities line up with ITC requirements.
• Lead activities to recover from incidents & completing subsequent problem management & Root Cause Analysis.
• Produce & update roadmaps including upgrade paths & end of sale/end of support information.
• Provide a structured weekly report that monitors progress on Incidents, Projects, Key Activity & Management Information
• Define & execute change based on agreed policy.
• Work with Back Office & other ITC team to develop, deploy, monitor, maintain, upgrade, & support servers, storage, operating systems & software. Support other ITC teams with their solution design & project implementation
• Keep key operational known issues & training documentation up to date
• Ensure security vulnerabilities are assessed & appropriate action is taken
• Use appropriate tools to monitor & manage applications reporting on capacity, performance & optimisation, taking remediation action as necessary.
• Develop & maintain excellent relationships with a very diverse group of stakeholders, including Chinese & Iraqi JV partners, users, vendors & IT service organisations, communicating effectively with business process owners, key business users & Project Delivery Managers
• Work closely with the Applications, Telecommunications & Service Desk Teams to ensure effective customer support to the business, sharing information & knowledge wherever possible through process, dialogue, collaborative working.
• Participate in weekly operational reviews & monthly service reviews ensuring contract compliance & maximising value from contracts
• Identify & progress continuous service improvement activities.
• Identify risks to service delivery, recommend options to address risks & execute approved options.
• Actively promote a culture of HSSE awareness within the team & the wider organisation.
• Demonstrable understanding of diverse, multicultural work environment (Middle East experience preferable).

Senior Systems Engineer Desirable criteria & qualifications        

ITIL V3 foundation & at least 1 ITIL Intermediate certification, preferably V3 Service Operations
