Great opportunity to work for a Major Oil Company and perform as Technical Authority for Geotechnical Engineering discipline. Ensure that costs to company are minimized and that project schedule is maintained. Manage the Engineering Contractors and Equipment Vendors.

Activities:

* Ensure compliance of the engineering with approved SOR and corporate standards

* Report to Engineering Manager concerning discipline progress and areas of concern and to prepare daily report for his discipline

* Support Lead Civil and Structural Engineer with supervision of the detailed design

* Liaise with other disciplines such as Safety, QA, Construction, and Operations & Commissioning project personnel with regard to geotechnical matters.

* Ensure technical alignment between the various contractors' geotechnical design (in particular site preparation and surface facilities designs)

* To check the engineering documents, in his discipline, prepared by the contractor and to give prompt comments and/or approval, in accordance with the contract procedures and requirements.

* To check the incorporation of such comments by the contractor.

* To participate in the technical reviews.

* Control of the contractor during construction activities

* To assess any deviations from quality control procedures or requirements requested by the contractor, and make an appropriate recommendation

* To ensure that contractor HSE practices are acceptable and that proper measures and procedures are being implemented by everyone concerned.

* To check the adequacy of the contractor's personnel mobilization and demobilization.

* To participate in weekly, monthly and ad-hoc meetings with the contractor.

Qualifications / Experience:

* Degree in Civil Engineering or a degree in Engineering Geology or Geology with a post graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering an advantage.

* Minimum 15 years of related experience practicing geotechnical engineering on large scale and/or complex projects: such as upstream/downstream oil and gas, industrial development, linear development (pipeline).
