Chief Mechanical Resident Engineer - Tajikistan

The client is urgently seeking a Mechanical CRE for Hydropower rehabilitation project in Tajikistan.

Task/ Duties

• Operational understanding of all contracts to be supervised, including related design reports and related documents detailed understanding of tasks in Consultant's technical scope in contracts to be supervised.
• Day to day supervision of contractors including check of deliveries, quality monitoring, checks upon completion, supervision of commissioning and of operational tests.
• Overall responsibility for organizational aspects of works on Site including, health, safety and environmental protection.
• Coordination of technical supervision staff on Site including
• Management of Site office and Site facilities, vehicles, lodging etc. for supervision staff.
• Handling issues within Consultant's technical scope on Site including review and approval of contractors' design with support of engineers from home office and branch office.
• Organization, archiving and tracing of documents from contractors and Client, management of question-answer forms.
• Preparation of certificates to contractors for completion etc.
• Review of contractors' applications for payment, check and validation of contractors' invoices.
• Preparation of bi-monthly (every two months) invoices for supervision services and expenses follow up of reviews and revisions.
• Invoices prepared on Site shall comply with the Client's presentation requirements and incorporate input from home office staff.
• Preparation of monthly progress reports in English language.
• Accountability to project management from the home office for all of the above.

Qualification and experience

• Bachelors in Mechanical.
• Masters or equivalent in related engineering field.
• Overall 25 years experience
• 10 years specific experience relation to Dams and Hydropower
• 5 years specific experience related to hydropower Rehabilitation activities.

• Location: Tajikistan
• Start/ Mobilisation date: ASAP.
• End Client approval process: Yes, usually takes 3 weeks
• Salary: Budget is between 15k to 18k euros per month.
