HSE Superintendent - Hydropower - India

Tobe be based in India, the client is seeking HSE Superintendent for large scale Hydropower project in India. Reporting to the HSE Manager your desired background and experience will come from heavy civil construction, roads, tunnels, heavy lifting, work in confined spaces, transport safety etc

Project Information: 100MW is a run-of-river hydroelectric power project. The project is in a remote mountainous area of India. Experience from similar work and employers with high HSE standards will be preferred. This is hands- on field work in unique surroundings!

• Integrity and high professional and ethical standards
• Self-going and independent but play his/her part as a team member. It is very important to understand the bigger picture.
• Whereas contractor-side experience is good, it is important to understand the role and responsibility of the Owner. My client is very in guiding and supervising the contractors in this project and one can't shy away from tough, direct discussions. Stopping work that isn't safe is part of daily work.
• Good communicator, visible in the field and not shy of addressing people in a direct yet respectful manner.
• Constructive in the way feedback is giving. The aim is to train the staff to work safely and prevent accidents and further disruptions.
• Much of the risk activities relates to transport on very poor roads - experience from similar work will be a plus.

Main Duties/Tasks

• Develop and implement HSE guidelines.
• Monitor implementation of and adherence to HSE standards across the Project.
• Investigate accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents can be prevented in the future.
• Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
• Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Investigate health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations as well as Company specific requirements.
• Collaborate with all disciplines to institute control or remedial measures for hazardous or potentially hazardous environments, conditions or equipment.
  

Qualifications

• Formal degree level within engineering, construction project management.
• Extensive HSE leadership experience from similar roles.
• Previous experience from infrastructure construction, with a preference for hydro power.

Salary Package

Upto €75k depending on experience The salary package consists of (SALARY, HOUSING, FLIGHTS, EXPENSE, ETC)

Please note that due to current constraints, client may have to limit home travel to reduce risk. Prolonged stays will be compensated with additional time off.
