This well established and successful well servicing company provides the oil, gas, water and mining sectors with some of the world’s most innovative project solutions. They are now seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Specialist in a contract role to provide functional HSE Leadership and support to operating sites/projects and support functions to the local business unit. The role will be located within the local NZ business and will also work closely with their Australian Team.

Reporting to the New Zealand General Manager you will be responsible for:
  • The assisting in the administration and further development of HSE Policy, Plans, Manuals, Standards, Procedures, Resource documentation and strategies;
  • Encourage prompt reporting of hazards and risks;
  • Carry out risk assessments of work functions and assisting with the implementation of controls;
  • Conduct company Inductions and Safety Awareness Training programs;
  • Maintain and keep up to date company induction manual;
  • Investigate and report on all incidents;
  • Compile, analyse, & maintain QHSE statistical resource documents including, but not limited to; QHSE Reporting Register, Incident Register, Action Management Register and Risk Hazard Register
You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in health and safety within the resource, construction or energy sectors (preferably the Oil & Gas sector).  You will have a sound knowledge and experience in implementing systems and risk management programs within industry.  Other duties will include:
  • Incident investigation training/experience
  • Demonstrated experience analysing and reporting HSE performance metrics and trends.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant H&S legislation, codes and standards.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work and maintain resilience in difficult situations
  • Sound knowledge of risk management processes
  • Outstanding organisational skills including the ability to plan and execute against multiple deliverables and manage multiple stakeholder groups
  • Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate and work effectively within a team environment
