The client is one of the largest renewable energy project developers in the world. The company is dynamically developing in Poland, which is why we look for experienced candidates for the position of GIS Engineer.
GIS Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating and communicating project related spacial data during a project and production of maps prepared-for- purpose. The engineer also takes care of converting spacial data, setting up project limitations, spacial analysis and identification of spacial data available from external sources. GIS engineer handles early planning of roads and crane pads and supports the Construction Engineer in final planning of it. The person is also responsible for site analysis to assist turbine selection and power curve warranty arrangements and visibility analysis. The responsibilities of GIS engineer also include the review of quality of external grid/road/crane pad data, terrain data and map readability.
The ideal candidate for this role should have an expert knowledge on GIS tools, related data architecture and available sources for spacial data. Additionally the candidate should be familiar with site construction procedures and clear presentation of graphical information. The person should also have good understanding of wind power siting, potential limitations to wind power and grid design components. The client requires the knowledge of tools such as: ArcGIS (Desktop, Enterprise and Online), QGIS, FME, Avenza maps, AutoCAD, Python, Microsoft Office. The candidate must also know Polish and English fluently.
