Mechanical Engineer (PV)

The main responsibilities are:
- Ensure that Technologies’ product roadmaps and development are aligned with the PV module industry trends for physical and electrical properties of PV modules.
- Ensure that Technologies’ product roadmaps and development are aligned with the PV module industry trends for the best installation efficiencies and speed.
- Understand market dynamics as they apply to product and roadmap definition
- Be the thought leader on applications innovation for PV module mounting.
- Simulate the economic effects of module design evolution on the tracker cost; Create and maintain system-level cost and value models for PV modules, mounting components, DC collection systems, string sizing, and parameters related to the installed cost and performance of PV modules.
- Develop conceptual CAD models of module mounting systems to address the changing module market.
- Work with module manufacturers to ensure that new module designs are compatible with Company`s mounting solutions.
- Develop and maintain FEA models to predict PV module and tracker system behavior in response to static and dynamic mechanical loading.
- Lead or participate in engineering programs to develop new or improved module-mounting solutions.
- Represent Company in committees, working groups, and technical panels for international and national photovoltaic codes and standards
- Coordinate with Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Sales, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams in-house to develop new or improved module-mounting solutions.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field; Experience working with PV module companies or racking companies to develop a mounting solution a plus.
- Proven experience obtaining results requiring international relationships and working with remote teams.
- Excellent computer skills, web meeting software, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Power Point, MS One-Note.
- Proficiency in using SolidWorks for mechanical drawing a plus.
- Proficiency in using SolidWorks or Ansys for FEA simulation a plus.
