Role Summary/Purpose
Responsible for the new manufacture and recertification of used parts and products with regards to welding activities, working on state of the art Computerized Welding/Cladding machines.
Essential Responsibilities
• Participate in running and qualifying new procedures as and when required
• Aptitude to be trained in new procedures and methods.
• Assistance in training in welding procedures to Trainees.
• Adhere to the quality system controls as regards to control of welding processes.
• Safe working practices and implementing and enforcing EHS policy.
• To assist in planning for improved methods of productivity.
• Meet delivery schedules and pre-set time for operations.
• Participation in identifying and finding solutions to problems.
• Material movements within the Welding area.
Qualifications/Requirements
• School leaving certificate or similar diploma.
• Basic understanding of mathematics.
• Computer literacy (Basic)
• Understanding of modern welding methods and techniques.
• Working understanding of ISO engineering drawings.
• Good communication skills.
• At least 3 years of experience within a welding department.
Desired Characteristics
• Previous Welding experience.
• Computer literate (Basic).
• Working understanding of ISO engineering drawings.
• T.I.G. Experience (Tungsten Inert Gas).
Advantageous
• Certified skill trade ~ equivalent to 2-4 years apprenticeship/scholarship.
• Exposure within an ISO certified company.
• Exposure to API (American Petroleum Institute) products and standards.
• Knowledge and experience of Fronius or other automatic Welding units.
• Cladding experience using automated pulsed gas
