Senior Contracts Specialist - Subsea

Our worldwide oil & gas client has a fantastic long term contract opportunity for a Senior Contracts Specialist based here in Perth working with a mega LNG Project team. Reporting into the Project Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Contracts Specialist is responsible for the management and closeout of pipeline/subsea contracts and purchase orders in accordance with corporate, business unit and JV requirements for the LNG Project. You will be delivering contract administration and supplier management from award through close-out, liaise and collaborate with business unit Supply Chain leadership, and engage with contractors/suppliers to ensure their activities fully comply with contractual requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

• Administration of contracts/POs within the pipeline/subsea function of the LNG Project.
• Engage with key internal and external stakeholders with respect to contract management.
• Deliver value to the project through proactive contract management and ensuring Company's contractual rights are protected.
• Contract administration including such activities as ensuring terms and conditions are followed, compensation is in accordance with contract requirements, change order administration protects the Company's interest, and contract closeout is completed on a timely, accurate and fully auditable basis.
• Provide recommendations to project management on issues related to contractor performance and change orders.
• Ensure contracting and procurement activities are executed within project requirements, budget and schedule, and are performed in accordance with approved work processes and compliant with Supply Chain systems (SAP, SMART and PIMS).
• Act as the contractual focal point when interfacing with contractors on such issues as purchasing, expediting, invoicing, logistics, materials management and change order requests.
• Management and oversight of contractors' contracts and procurement functions.
• Identify key risks and opportunities in contracting and procurement activities; propose effective mitigations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, supply chain or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 15yrs+ experience in procurement processes on major offshore oil or gas projects.
• 5yrs+ experience as a Senior Contracts Specialist dealing with pipeline/subsea supply contracts on capital projects in excess of $1B.
• Strong communicator proficient in written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated experience in SAP and good financial acumen.
• Attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
• Process oriented with good analytical skills, and ability to produce consistently high quality work within expected timeframes.
• Adaptability, strong planning & organising skills are high advantageous.
• Additional professional certification, such as P.E. or C.P.M. preferred.
