Senior Safety & Risk Engineer - Brownfields

Job Description:

• Independently deliver Safety & Risk Engineering deliverables for FEED /Detailed Engineering Packages of work to meet client and industry standards and regulations
• Assist the Safety & Risk Engineering Lead in defining Safety & Risk Engineering Deliverables and Activities for allocated project scope of work
• Participate in progress reporting of Safety & Risk Deliverables / Activities
• Assist other Discipline Leads in development of Discipline Engineering Technical Notes and Guidelines
• Review and comment on deliverables developed by other disciplines
• As required by projects / studies, supervise other engineers
• Coordinate work of third party consultants
• Liaise with Draftsperson on drafting resource requirements for projects. Instruct Drafting Team on Safety engineering drafting requirements for projects
• Interface with other engineering disciplines and project engineers during the course of project execution
• Attend meetings with clients, suppliers and / or consultants to assist on technical issues relating to safety engineering
• Facilitate HAZID/ENVID (preferably HAZOPs also)

Experience Required:

• 10- 12 years experience in a similar role
• Engineering Degree essential (Process or Chemical Engineering background preferred)
• Safeti, Phast and/or other software for QRA/dispersion modelling and consequence analysis
• Complete understanding of LNG production process
• Experience of formal safety assessments, safety case, risk studies related to gas plants (Safety Case, QRA, FHA, NFJA, SECIA, SCIA, HAZID. HAZOP, LOPA, etc)
• Experience of brownfield modifications on LNG or other major hazard facilities
• Complete understanding of Australian Major Hazard Facility regulations and requirements
• Risk Management (ISO 31000)
• Full understanding of Process Safety Management Systems, Standards and industry best practices
• HAZOP/LOPA/HAZID facilitation
