Introduction

The client is pleased to offer the following opportunity for a Railway Specialist in Houston, TX.

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 6 Months 

Description

Responsibilities:

• Initiate and develop relationships with railway service providers, both operators and RTC owners/leasing companies

• Lead negotiations with the main Railway Companies; Rail Car Operators / Suppliers

• Support ongoing projects and activities with deep Railway insight

• Work to optimize the railway operations, including transloadings.

• Develop accurate market information of railway logistics and practices in the Americas and provide insight to Senior Management.

• Present best possible alternative to operate RTC:s in the area.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Relevant university degree and minimum 10-15 years of experience in railway logistics industry.

• Experience in the development of new business from scratch and capable of "out of the box thinking".

• Proven track record of success in this field and deep understanding of railway processes required in this environment.

• Good understanding of future trends in railway logistics and analytical thinking.

• Strong contacts with railway logistics providers

• Deep understanding of railway operations and aggregation of feedstocks

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability and willingness to work in intercultural environment

• Strong stress tolerance and confidence needed to define and, if needed, defend strategic ideas.

• Hands-on approach able to utilize his/her knowledge and experience to build a successful logistics model for this developing business.
